Photographs, and the stories behind them.

This is the story and work of an amateur photographer in his fifties, who finds his peace documenting the remarkable landscapes of Australia.

Tree ferns and mossy boulders along a tea-coloured stream in a Victorian forest

Toorongo RiverNear Noojee, Victoria

We've been coming to the Toorongo River, just outside Noojee, for as long as we can remember, and it never gets old. On this spring day the weather was just right, not too warm and not too cold. Sunlight dappled through the trees as we walked the track beside the river, with the sound of running water for company.

Then I looked through the lens, and the light on the ferns, the mossy boulders and the tea-coloured water made me feel completely at peace. That feeling is why I took the photo. Afterwards we headed to the Toolshed for a meal. Great gluten-free food tops off a perfect day.

Prints and a book of stories are on the way.

More galleries are coming: coast, street, the night sky and golden hour.
